Head of Engineering

The Head of Engineering is responsible for the technical performance of the ICS covered aircraft components with regards to reliability improvement, cost optimization and airworthiness compliance in order to define and develop the pool standard according to technical and commercial aspects. In addition, and with the know-how gained out of the technical assessments the customer contracted services have to be fulfilled with first priority and balanced out with the SR Technics interests. Including the management of data regarding limits, Phase In/Phase Out activities and updated aircraft inventory of all customers. Further the engineering support within SR Technics organization has to be ensured as required (in particular, the support for workshops, procurement and commercial departments).

Your tasks

  • Responsible for the technical standard and continuous development of the SR Technics components rotable pool
  • Establish maintenance orders as well as maintenance and repair rules including technical minimum requirements in order to optimize and implement the Pool Standard
  • Assess authority and manufacturer instructions and arrange and comply with the necessary measures
  • Ensure a continuous review of the reliability of components and drive measures for improvement and cost reduction
  • Manage modification and improvement programs in coordination with airline operators, OEMs and/or repair stations
  • Perform quality investigations due to technical occurrences and ensure implementation of corresponding measures for compliance
  • Interact with airline operators, OEMs and vendors to improve reliability of systems and components
  • Maintenance of aircraft equipment data, assessment of service bulletins, interchangeability and limits of aircraft components in order to fulfill the internal requirements as well as customer services & support requirements within the business and the involvement of the appropriate stakeholders utilizing established workflows
  • Develop the global engineering team, ensure the needed technical education and training and define the strategic direction
  • Introduce and maintain tools to measure and analyze the technical KPIs in order to drive efficiency
  • Support, manage or lead interdisciplinary projects support the ramp up of new customers

Your profile

  • Master’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience, additional MBA desired
  • At least 5 years of Airline industry or MRO experience including at least 2 years leading a technical team
  • Very good knowledge of all aviation regulations and the specific requirements of the MRO industry
  • Full professional proficiency in English (C1 level), proficiency in German preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office
  • Excellent troubleshooting and creative problem-solving abilities, strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Excellent leadership skills
