Thermal Spray Operator

Your tasks

 
  • Thermal coating of aircraft engine parts with a variety of coating equipment, fixtures and coating processes (plasma coating, arc spraying, HVOF)
  • Prepare and post-process parts to be coated, which includes surface protection, grit blasting and blending
  • Create and run robotic programs on 6-axis robots (ABB)
  • Perform operations on equipment to maintain functionality, such as adding coating powder, changing spray nozzles, checking fluids and filters, alignment of equipment, etc.
  • Maintain the equipment in excellent operating condition and do troubleshooting on the equipment to resolve issues quickly
  • Working closely with process and equipment engineers, machinists and laboratory specialists in order to meet all specifications
  • Interpret OEM repair manuals, drawings, manufacturing specifications, shop orders as required
  • Use of part handling devices, in order to load/unload parts
  • Maintain work area using 5S standards (cleaning, returning of fixtures, basic maintenance and servicing on machines)

Your profile                                                                                                                                  

  • Completed basic technical training
  • 3 years of CNC machining, mechanical or manufacturing experience
  • Experience with thermal spray equipment, preferably in the area of turbomachinery
  • Experience in robot programming is an advantage
  • Open-minded, committed team player
  • Willingness to work in 3-shift operation
  • English spoken and written, German language skills are an advantage
